PV Panels
Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels are becoming an increasingly common finding on the roofs of properties throughout the UK.
Solar PV panels use silicon semi-conductor cells to convert sunlight into electricity.
This electricity can then either be used immediately or stored for future use, depending on whether or not you have a battery storage unit connected to your solar PV panel system.
Energy on cloudy days
By opting to have solar PV panels installed on your residential or commercial property, you will benefit from lower energy bills and protection against future price rises.
Many people hold the misconception that solar panels do not work without direct sunlight, but your panels will function properly even on a cloudy day. The key is to position the panels where they will be exposed to as much natural light as possible.
SEG Payments
Did you know that under the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), you may be eligible to receive revenue from your chosen electricity supplier for any renewable electricity you export to the national grid?
You can sign up to receive SEG payments with your chosen supplier as soon as the installation of your solar PV system has been completed. In order to qualify, you will be required to show that your system adheres to the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) standards.
Here at Green Solar Footprint, we are MCS certified and are perfectly positioned to advise you on how to get the most out of the Smart Export Guarantee.
